One issue that crops up with reprinting fiction, is that part of a series may be public domain (in some territories), while other titles may still be under copyright. Here's a short series detective, Abelard Voss, who was featured in three mysteries. I'll be able to reprint the first two, but the third had a renewed copyright, so would require permission from the estate. It's not always possible to locate an estate, as some authors had no children or heirs may have different names and not even realize their position.
