Hultman: Murder in the French Room

When young Joyce Terry returns from the cashier to her waiting customer in Line & Hollis’s women’s ready-to-wear department, she is dismayed to find the woman dead, murdered, in the fitting room. What follows is the investigation by Detective Inspector Dan Bratton as he puzzles out the clues to a wily killer. Was it a member of the department store staff? A customer? Did someone who knew the woman follow her into the store or was it an opportunistic murder? There are plenty of twists and turns until Bratton snares the killer.
