Thomas Jefferson was not only a distinguished statesman, he was one of the greatest epicures and connoisseurs in the art of living in his day. He took as great an interest in his domestic affairs as he did the affairs of state. Author Marie Kimball (1889-1955) provides us with a brief history of his epicurean development and adapts his favorite recipes for the modern cook. (OK, technically, as this book was published in the 1930s and 1940s, modern ingredients may require additional adaptation.)
